And It Was So Christian book on creation author Geri Pool

And It Was So” New Book Title

  • My mother and author, Geri Pool, and I finished our 64 page illustrated multi-generational book. The poem, And It Was So, is uniquely written and illustrated about God’s creation. It is a table top book that both children and adults will enjoy. Each poetic stanza reflects a Biblical text from Genesis chapters 1 & 2. The Sacred Snacks in the back of the book increase Scriptural understanding for older children and adults.

Crooked Tree Between Us

  • It was a blast having artwork in the “Between Us” jury entry exhibit held at the Crooked Tree in Traverse City. I also was invited to participate in the “Artist Talk”. Attending shows and talking with other artist and artist enthusiast is always my favorite part in creating artwork. Hopefully I will be in more events like this…but for now I have been busy getting the word out about the new book I created with my mom, titled “And It Was So”. Check it out.

2025 Gene Rantz Plein Air Paint Out

  • Painting outdoors creates new challenges as a painter. For one you need to look at the surrounding beauty that surrounds you. How do you narrow down such vistas? Well last year at the Gene Rantz Plein Air Paint Out in Northport I decided to paint the cool old truck of Overlook Road in Northport. Everytime I passed that fruit stand I told myself I needed to try to paint that truck. So I did. And… my finished painting “Still Truckin’” earned an Honorary Award! How inspiring! Thank you Northport!

  • Having the opportunity to paint with students is always invigorating. Their enthusiasm and fresh insights inspire continuous exploration. I also had the opportunity to share what it means to be an artist.
