Latitudes is an small venue event center located in Suttons Bay, Michigan. I met with the owner to discuss logo ideas. His only criteria was to include a compass. I created the logo and suggested the tagline which the customer immediately liked.
This logo was create for a gentleman involved in the National Model Railroad Association. On 550 feet of track in the customer’s home, model trains travel through an elaborate layout depicting the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway at Raton, NM in 1952. So when developing the clients logo I took a spin off the Santa Fe Logo that revealed the customer’s initials E. B.
The owner of RF Juice and I worked side by side. Chuck shared clear objectives. The card needed to include a “balance” dipole antenna, product photo and cool colors. The end product reflects his product – a Radio HF (high frequency or shortwave) coil that promotes current and voltage symmetry, clean signal and efficient power.
The visual beauty in Chuck’s coil design is significant to the ham operator who has pride in their radio station performance and appearance.
Of course I designed my own logo and business card! Why the reflecting words? I create products that reflect your business like the clear waters that surrounds Leelanau County.
Why didn’t I use only “DakotaDoDat”? People continue to compliment my name. They don’t forget it. Have you? Don’t tell me you forgot, Kat Dakota! (Me – ow!)
I developed the name for this company and designed the logo and business cards. Two flute players from a select group performed duets at various events. Schedules dictated which flutists performed. Steve and I started the concept and were the first duo to perform under the name.
