I created the fish, fowl and animal digital illustrations for a book initially targeting young readers between 6 and 12. But the writer and I found the written content and illustrations appeals to a larger audience. The brevity in the poetry presents great depth. Each word holds critical meaning like the messages behind the visual elements. The closer one pays attention to the words and illustration the more they gain from the message. The writer and I discuss overall visual concepts. I then draw the images and landscapes in illustrator. Feeding off each other, we make a dynamic team. More collaborative work is in the works because it’s working.
The “Horse Stampede” project opened great opportunities in working with homeowners and businesses dress their environments via graphic murals. My designs provide dramatic options where the graphic murals stand on their own or can be partially covered by framed art.
