The first meeting with the Bay Landscaping team I presented a rough website plan outlining the navigation and page hierarchy. Fortunate for them they operated a successful business. Unfortunately for me I could not get a second meeting to confirm objectives. With an upcoming Home builder show, I decided to move forward. I researched their business and industry, wrote the web content, retrieved images from my photo library and created the website. It was a gamble but I trusted my skill . I emailed a link to the website. Response – Jerry loved it. (That was the plan). I knew he liked the “flowery” writing style and hand drawn plans that set them apart from competition.
Shortly following website deployment, Bay Landscaping was featured in the industry’s leading Landscaping Magazine/Newsletter. The editor contacted my customer requesting approval to use the content I wrote and ended the letter with, “And, by the way, I love your website.” Bay Landscaping folks were happy.
I designed their marketing brochure, business stationary and business cards. Name placement varied on each employee’s card as size and shape of plants dictate their placement.
Not even a year passed before The U.S. Local Business Association recognized Bay Landscaping with the “Best of Local Business” Award for achieving exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category.
I’m proud their first website was on target and served them many years.
